Juventus looking to sign Domenico Berardi for Next Season
Juventus are looking to bring back one of their former players that came through their youth ranks, Domenico Berardi. Berardi is a 20-year-old attacker who currently plays his football at Sassuolo, and he is currently co-owned by both Juventus and Sassuolo. Juventus want to have full ownership over the player, but both teams are having a bit of a dispute. Juventus want to have Berardi for the next season, but Sassuolo want to have him on their team for another season. Representatives of both clubs are likely to meet each other within the next couple of days to reach an agreement. If Berardi leaves Sassuolo, then that would severely weaken them and put the team at risk of relegation, especially if they lose Simone Zaza. If Sassuolo are looking to keep the youngster for another season, then I do not mind waiting. Domenico Berardi is only 20-years-old, and there is still plenty of time for him to develop, and it is better for the player to play on a team where he is guaranteed more playing time. If Berardi stays on Sassuolo for another season, then he could continue improving, whereas if he joins Juventus, it could potentially hurt his development because he will not be guaranteed a position on Juventus’ starting line-up. Juventus have a large amount of forwards on their current roster with Alvaro Morata, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Fernando LLorente, and Alessandro Matri. However, if Domenico Berardi does sign for Juventus, then Allegri could perhaps field a mouth-watering 3-man attack of Morata, Dybala, and Berardi. All of these forwards are immensely talented, and are all in their early 20’s. Juventus could be looking to build a potential all-star attack for the future that could last for many years. These three attackers can lead the team to Champion’s League glory. Whether Juventus are willing to bring him in for next season, or whether Sassuolo keeps him for another season, it seems inevitable that Berardi will rejoin his former club in the near future, and when that day comes, Juventus could look forward to boasting a young, potent attack that could terrorize defenses for many years to come.
Should Juventus sign Matteo Darmian?
After the an impressive 2014 World Cup debut and two impressive seasons with Torino, a lot of big clubs have been linked with Torino full-back Matteo Darmian. Juventus is one of those clubs that are after his signature, but should the Italian giants sign him, or should they look for someone else? I believe that Matteo Darmian would be an excellent signing for Juventus for a number of reasons. Although Juventus' current full-backs are integral to the team's success, they are getting up their in age, with Stephan Liechtensteiner at 31, and Patrice Evra at 34. These two full-backs are going to have to be replaced soon, and with Matteo Darmian at 25, he will be a suitable replacement for one these two full-backs. Also, Darmian would be a useful player due to his versatility. The Torino full-back is adept to a number amount of positions. He can play anywhere across a 4-man backline, he can be apart of a 3-man defense, and he can push further foward in a more advanced role as a wing-back on both flanks. Seeing as how Allegri likes to alternate between a 4-3-1-2 and a 3-5-2 formation, this makes Darmian an ideal signing for Juventus. What makes Darmian such an impressive player is that he seems to get the job done both offensively and defensively. During the 2014-2015 season, the talented full-back has notched up 4 goals and 4 assists, which is quite an impressive return for a full-back. He has also been proven to be great defensively as well. Matteo Darmian was statistically the best tackler in Europe during the 2012/2013 season when he was 23. Darmian averaged 5.3 tackles completed tackles per game. The only downside in signing Darmian is that he will come at a hefty price. Torino's president has recently put a 25 million euro price tag on him, which is quite expensive for a player who has yet to taste competition in the Champion's League. I believe that if Juventus can sign him for a cheaper price, then he could potentially develop into one of Juventus' all-time great defenders. He might even become the next Gianluca Zambrotta or Antonio Cabrini if he signs for the Bianconeri.
Will Sami Khedira Prove To Be a Good Signing?
As most fans of the Bianconeri are already aware, midfielder Sami Khedira has recently completed his signing to Juventus from Spanish giants, Real Madrid. With Pirlo leaving, he will most likely serve as a replacement for the Italian Legend, and the 28-year-old German definitely has big shoes to fill. Although he does not exactly serve as a deep-lying player, he will offer Juventus better protection in front of the back line. Many question whether or not he will prove to be a great signing for Juventus, but I for one think that he will. Khedira will be slotted alongside an already star-studded midfield that includes the likes of Marchisio, Vidal, and Pogba (assuming that the latter does not get sold this summer). He will most likely serve as the team's holding midfielder, as that was his role on Sttutgart, Real Madrid, and the German National Team. Sami Khedira offers many exceptional qualities that few other holding midfielders can match. The German international posses great tackling ability, stamina, tactical awareness, and aerial ability. He will surely add great protection in front of an already strong Juventus backline, and he will allow for the more creative players, such as Pogba, Vidal, and Marchisio freedom to attack and score goals. Although Khedira is an exceptional talent, he is not without a few flaws in his game. Firstly, Khedira's goal-scoring is not exactly the greatest. When compared to other central midfielders, such as Vidal, De Rossi, Gerrard, and Wesley Sneijder, Khedira is rather poor. The former Real Madrid man has only notched up 6 goals in over 100 appearances for Real Madrid. He also does not seem to contribute with a lot of assists, and his technical skills are not the greatest when compared such central midfielders, such as the man that he replacing, Andrea Pirlo. However, as a defensive midfielder, there are very holding midfielders that can match Khedira's ability. He also has the same winning mentality that is suitable when playing for a team like Juventus. Having won various titles with Stuttgart and Real Madrid, and also having been a World Cup winner with Germany, Khedira will definitely act as leader both on the pitch and in the locker room.
